Types of carpet-knotting techniques

Senneh knot
The Senneh knot (also Persian knot or Farsi Baff) is an asymmetrical knot in which the yarn runs in a loop around one warp thread while lying loose under the other warp thread. The weft thread is placed once or twice between each row of knots.
The Senneh knot allows for a denser and more detailed knotting of the carpet.

Tibetan knot
The Tibetan knot is tied with the help of a stick by placing the stick in front of the chain across the entire width of the carpet. The long yarn is looped around two chain threads and then around the stick. When one row is finished, the loops around the stick are cut off to create the knot.
